A few weeks ago, we went to Djembering to pray and to encourage the Christians there.  Our friend Offie Bolie, a pastor in Ziguinchor, has been overseeing the church in Djembering, the village where he grew up. He put Edward in charge of leading the church there while Albert has been studying at a Bible College in the Ivory Coast.  Albert, his wife Irma and his two boys have been away for 2 years.  He is back now to do an internship for his studies at the church in Djembering.  Then he will go back to the Ivory Coast to finish his last year of studies.  Albert has vision to be the pastor of the church in Djembering when he's finished with his training. In the meanwhile, Edward's doing a great job with raising up disciples within the church and reaching out to messed up guys who live in the village. Some of them are alcoholics whom "respectible" people in the village don't want to associate with but Edward loves them like Jesus does and has hope for their futures.  Edward's cool that way.
November 2010 Prayer Letter

Thank you for all your prayers and financial support this past month. I've moved into a new phase of my training where I'm learning to travel by myself and visit people I know on my own. This past Friday, I traveled solo to Ziguinchor for the first time. This was one of the tasks for my training-to take a trip there for shopping. I had to find transportation there and back. Then I bought our fruit and veggies for the week at one of the open markets and dry foods at one of the shops. God blessed my trip and everything went smoothly. I'm very thankful for that!

I've been hanging out with some of the youth girls lately. I've been going to visit Solange. She's one of the youth girls in our neighborhood who comes to the Wednesday Bible study. She lives with several of her teenage cousins and we hang out together. Please pray God's blessing on my time with Solange and that she sees I care about her. This month Kristina's starting a monthly gathering at the Missionary Training Center for all the teenage girls from the church. I'm really looking forward to our first meeting Saturday November 20th! Please pray for that evening that all of the girls are transformed by the Holy Spirit.

As for me, God's continuing to mold me into a good missionary. There are a few specific areas I need growth in to do my work effectively: 1) order in my life, 2) awareness, and 3) good communication/social skills. As far as order goes, God's been helping me with my time management. I'm finding that after I finish my tasks for the program I have more free time to do other things. Please pray that God would help me choose order every day. I need to become more aware of everything that's going on around me and I am not very good at multi-tasking. Those are two really important things for working with youth. I'm very happy that Tina's coaching me with communication skills. She's teaching me ways to show people love and to ask them questions when I don't understand something they say. Please pray I'll remember to do everything Kristina's teaching me.

Please pray for my support-raising process. I'm still short of my monthly budget of $1200 and I need more money to do everything that's required for my program here. Please pray for God to raise up more monthly supporters. Please consider supporting Mission Israel on a monthly basis if you don't already. I'm able to serve Jesus overseas because of your gracious giving to this ministry.
